In an ongoing commitment to help protect your personal information, Fidelity Investments is implementing mandatory two-factor authentication (2FA) for all TVA 401(k) participants’ NetBenefits® accounts. This additional security measure is crucial in safeguarding your data and retirement savings against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

What is Two-Factor Authentication? Two-factor authentication is a security process that requires two different forms of identification before granting access to an account or system. This typically involves something you know (like a password) and something you have (such as a mobile device).

Why is 2FA important?

  • Enhanced Security: 2FA adds an extra layer of defense, making it significantly harder for unauthorized individuals to access your accounts, even if they have your password.
  • Data Protection: With 2FA, sensitive data and personal information are better protected from breaches.

What does this mean for you?

Beginning in late April 2024, all TVA 401(k) participants will be required to use 2FA when accessing their NetBenefits account. If you do not have the necessary information in your account already, you will be prompted to add the missing information. If you are prompted to set up 2FA in NetBenefits and have questions or need help, please reach out to Fidelity at 800-354-7121.
