The Director of Operations is an employee of Bicentennial Volunteers, Inc (BVI). This position will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee the day-to-day activities of BVI, Retiree Resources Corporation (RRC) and National Emergency Assistance (NEA) organizations ensuring that they are performing efficiently and effectively and ensuring goals and objectives are achieved. This position reports to the BVI President.
Principal Accountabilities:
Leads, implements and communicates the strategic direction of organization’s operations.
Collaborates with the BVI President and senior leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
Identifies, recommends, and implements new or revised processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support, execution and documentation.
Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends.
Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated.
Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the President and Board.
Coordinates with other support departments such as human resources and finance to ensure successful operations.
Minimum Requirements:
Education – bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management or related field required.
Experience – Extensive and diversified background with at least 5-7 years of related experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Ability to implement strategic plans, along with a proven ability to manage multi-dimensional operations developing and executing business processes.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and organizational skills.
Experience leading and managing a staff, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Collaborative leadership style with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
