TVA Visitor Centers: A place to visit, learn and enjoy
Did you know in 2024, nearly 100,000 people visited TVA’s visitor centers?
TVA helps make the region a great place to visit by protecting natural resources, preserving scenic areas and offering free, family-friendly activities. From dam overlooks and nature trails to educational exhibits at visitor centers, TVA creates spaces where families can explore, learn and enjoy the outdoors together — at no cost.
Our visitor centers have hosted individuals from all places and all backgrounds.
Some of our most beloved visitor centers include Fontana, Kentucky, Norris Dam and Raccoon Mountain Pumped Storage Plant, to name a few.
On Trip Advisor, Raccoon Mountain Pumped Storage Plant and Visitor Center in Chattanooga is a top attraction, ranking #23 among things to do in the city.
TVA’s visitor centers are staffed by dedicated volunteers. These volunteers are TVA’s longest-standing brand ambassadors — Bicentennial Volunteers, Inc. members who retired after spending all or part of their careers at TVA.
Every volunteer has a unique story about their TVA service to share, making every visit unique and authentic.
As of June 9, Kentucky, Norris, Raccoon Mountain and Fontana Dam have all been reopened, and will remain open into late fall. Visitor centers are a great place to explore the history of TVA and the services it provides to the Valley region.
New for 2025, visitors can use tva.com/visit to plan their trips and enjoy interactive scavenger hunts at each visitor center —adding a fun, hands-on experience for all ages.
