KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Valley Authority is hosting a virtual briefing to provide updates on the Integrated Resource Plan process.
The webinar will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, beginning at 11 a.m. ET. Registration is available at tva.com/irp. Questions may be submitted in writing at that link, with answers provided during the briefing as time allows.
TVA staff are refreshing assumptions and scenarios for use in the IRP analysis after a number of changes externally, and with a restored quorum on the TVA Board of Directors. Specifically, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and a number of executive orders and regulatory actions impact the costs, availability, and requirements related to renewables, fossil, and nuclear resources.
In addition, the actual and forecasted electricity demand in the Tennessee Valley region has increased at a more rapid pace than expected, primarily due to population growth and data center growth in the region. TVA is working to complete the IRP later in 2026.
