Bad actors—like criminals, scammers and cyber attackers—are always looking for ways to sneak into our TVA network and cause harm. That’s why every single employee is a key part of keeping us safe.

Lately, TVA Cybersecurity has seen clever changes in how these attackers try to trick people. Attackers are using social engineering to fool users into giving away important and personal information. They’re using phone calls, text messages and emails to pretend to be someone they’re not.

They may try to scare you or make you feel rushed. They may pretend to be a top executive or manager. Sometimes they act like they are with IT and ask for a password reset, or they may even try to get information from HR.

That’s why it’s so important to stay alert and ask questions if something feels off.

Tips to protect yourself and TVA from cyber threat actors:

  • Do not answer phone calls or text messages from unknown numbers.
  • Be suspicious of messages that create fear or urgency.
  • Don’t share personal or company information without double-checking.
  • Report anything strange—even if you’re not sure.

Keep your guard up. Ask questions. Report anything suspicious.  Together, we can stay safe.
