Desc/Accountabilities:
- Requires in-depth experience, knowledge, and skills in safety to develop and deliver tactical day-to-day safety, health and related services to assigned TVA customer base.
- Consults with customer base, understands the business, and works with line managers to develop and deliver tactical programs which enhance workforce strategies and improve efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness.
- Proactive in assessing health and safety costs and evaluating trends and best practices.
- Perform investigations of major events, such as serious accidents and hazardous materials incidents and provides technical direction for the development and implementation of corrective action programs.
- Perform routine and special inspections and analysis of job and system hazards, develops recommendations to improve working environments from a safety and health standpoint, and provides field support and assistance to remote work locations for implementation of safety programs.
- Deliver safety and health initiatives in a manner that will lead culture change throughout the TVA organization.
- Delivers day-to-day process, planning and implementation of OWCP cost management and recovery initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with all health and safety standards, including federal and state regulatory compliance, and provides interpretation of these standards.
- Responsible for the development of health and safety plans, including goals and objectives and for reporting performance to ensure the compliance with the plan and recommend corrective action as required.
- Develop procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and other requirements in implementing the program.
- Requires the ability to solve moderately complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions.
- Requires the ability to work independently with minimal guidance on safety and health issues and program implementation.
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may assist with directing the work of developmental consultants.
Education –A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Safety-Related Engineering or documented evidence of equivalent education, training and experience.
Experience – Minimum 7 years industrial occupational health and safety experience, which includes project management leading to practical knowledge of the theory and principles related to the administration of industrial safety and health programs, protection of facilities and human life.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities — Demonstrated effective written and oral communication, leadership and teamwork skills and the ability to be open to questions and suggestions and to pursue answers and resolutions.
Physical Requirements: Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding; work on uneven ground; able to bend, stoop, kneel and work in confined spaces; must be able to work in hot and cold stress environments. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position/access requirements and essential job functions.
