Description:
PROVIDE SENIOR NC MANAGEMENT WITH AN ONGOING OBJECTIVE AND INDEPENDENT VIEW OF INDUSTRIAL SAFETY PERFORMANCE ON NC PROJECTS.
PROVIDE A FRAMEWORK OF POLICIES, PROCEDURES, AND PROCESSES FOR CONSTRUCTION SAFETY MANAGEMENT.
ENSURES ACCOUNTABILITY STANDARDIZATION AND CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATING INDUSTRY BEST PERFORMANCE.
MANAGES SAFETY ORGANIZATION AND DEVELOPS THE LONG-TERM STRATEGIC GOALS AND DIRECTION OF CORPORATE SAFETY. MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, INCLUDING SUPPORTING TVA SAFETY PROCESSES, PROCEDURES AND TRAINING NEEDS.
MONITORS AND EVALUATES CONTRACTOR SAFETY PROGRAMS INCLUDING OCIP COST.
LEAD BEHAVIOR-CENTERED SAFETY, OVERSEE INCIDENT REPORTING AND INVESTIGATIONS, AND PERFORM EFFECTIVENESS MONITORING OF SAFETY PROGRAMS.
PREPARE NC CORPORATE SAFETY DATA REPORTS.
DRIVE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT TOWARDS CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY SAFETY BEST PERFORMANCE.
ADVISE NC SENIOR MANAGEMENT OF SAFETY CULTURE/CONDITIONS WITHIN THEIR ORGANIZATION.
SUPPORT NC LEADERS WITH ALIGNMENT TOWARD AN INCIDENT-FREE SAFETY CULTURE.
MENTORS AND DEVELOPS SAFETY LEADERSHIP IN TVA AND CONTRACT FIELD SAFETY PROFESSIONALS FOR BEHAVIOR-BASED SAFETY PRINCIPALS AND CONCEPTS.
SUPPORT FIELD SAFETY PROFESSIONALS BY PROVIDING CENTRAL COORDINATION POINT AND OUTLET FOR ESCALATION OF SITE SAFETY CONCERNS/CONDITIONS.
SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SAFETY PLANS, AND JOB SAFETY ANALYSIS (JSAS) THAT MATCH THE RISK AND NEEDS/REQUIREMENTS OF THE OPERATIONS AND CORPORATE SAFETY POLICY.
RECOMMEND IMPROVEMENTS TO TVA SAFETY ON HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.

Experience/Education/Skills:
B.S. DEGREE IN ENGINEERING OR SCIENCE (SAFETY-RELATED FIELD) OR DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE OF EQUIVALENT DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES. TRAINING IN THE FIELD OF INDUSTRIAL SAFETY IS PREFERRED. TEN OR MORE YEARS’ PROGRESSIVE SAFETY EXPERIENCE IN UTILITY OPERATIONS/GENERATION/CONSTRUCTION WITH A STRONG BACKGROUND IN NUCLEAR. SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED. CERTIFIED SAFETY PROFESSIONAL IS PREFERRED.
