Meet Our Leadership
BVI is a lean, mission-focused organization. The team responsible for coordinating volunteer programs, managing RRC staffing assignments, supporting NEA deployments, and advancing BVI’s charitable initiatives is made up of dedicated professionals who understand public service firsthand.
Adam Wolcott
President
Adam came to BVI by way of a career spent solving hard problems — first in financial services, then in entrepreneurship, then advising Fortune 250 companies on strategy. He joined BVI in 2024 to help sharpen its direction and stayed because the mission got a hold of him.
Now stepping into the presidency, Adam leads BVI, NEA, and RRC with a simple belief: organizations built to serve people deserve the same rigor and ambition as any Fortune 500 boardroom. He’s focused on building the systems, talent, and partnerships that let all three organizations grow without losing what makes them work: reliability, when it matters most.
Outside the office, Adam has spent years teaching entrepreneurship and design thinking to the next generation of business leaders at the University of Tennessee, and five years mentoring as a Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer, proof that his belief in investing in people doesn’t stop at 5 o’clock.
Kathy Brinson
Human Resources Manager, SPHR
Kathy leads HR for BVI with a steady hand built on years of experience in the field, including her background at the Tennessee Valley Authority. A University of Tennessee graduate and Knoxville native, she brings both institutional HR expertise and a genuine understanding of the TVA partnership that shapes so much of BVI’s work.
Kathy’s focus is on the people behind the mission — making sure staff and volunteers alike have the support they need to do their jobs well. Her approach to HR is practical and people-first, rooted in the belief that a strong organization starts with taking care of the people in it.
Nancy White
Chief Financial Officer
Nancy brings more than 15 years of financial leadership experience to her role as CFO of BVI, where she oversees the financial health of an organization with a mission as complex as it is meaningful. A CPA with a background spanning finance and public accounting, Nancy earned her degree from the University of Tennessee–Knoxville and has built a career on the belief that sound financial stewardship enables good work to continue.
Outside the numbers, Nancy is a believer in giving back — from her professional expertise to her time in the community. She approaches her work at BVI the same way: with precision, care, and an eye toward the bigger impact.
